Welcome to Limekiln House on the edge of
Chaldon Herring, a picturesque Dorset village with thatched
cottages, a green and a cosy, friendly thatched pub with good ales
and food.
We're a mile or so inland from Durdle Door
on the Jurassic Coast
and about three miles from Lulworth Cove, both can
be reached directly from the house by footpaths and bridleways
through small, quiet, unspoilt valleys, with no roads to cross.
We're close enough for you to enjoy all that
the Dorset coast has to offer, but in a tranquil rural setting without the crowds and traffic.

Views
of the garden
The house is
accessed from a bridleway off the lane between the villages of
Chaldon Herring and Winfrith Newburgh, and is set in an acre of
terraced lawns and banks with uninterrupted views across the
peaceful Dorset countryside. The bridleway continues to the coast
with footpaths to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and the coastal path.
The bridleways
continues past the house, through the valleys to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door
and the South-West Coastal Path.
The house was originally the
local lime maker's cottage but has been extensively extended and
upgraded. We can't claim to be a quaint
thatched Dorset cottage, but our en-suite bedrooms are
good-sized, comfortable and airy, with all modern facilities, power showers,
two with full-size baths as well, large picture windows with stunning views and no attic rooms.
No neighbours, houses or roads to spoil the outlook or the peace and
quiet. There's plenty of parking, a large private garden
breakfast on the patio, recliners, swings under the large beech tree, croquet and boules if you
like, surrounded by fields, trees and wildlife. We think it's perfect!
