Comfortable, friendly en-suite B&B accommodation in
a tranquil and secluded corner of coastal Dorset, close to
Lulworth
Cove , Monkey World
and the Tank Museum, on the edge of the Purbecks. Limekiln House is in a designated area of outstanding
natural beauty, about one mile from the South West Coastal Path and the
Jurassic Coast at Durdle Door, a World Heritage Site.
The house is 250 yards off the lane between
the villages of Chaldon Herring, also called East Chaldon, and
Winfrith Newburgh and is accessed via a bridleway. The track
continues traffic-free past the house, through a quiet valley to the
coast near Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, with
breath-taking views of the Purbecks and the coast from St Aldhelm's
Head to Portland Bill.

The house is set in an acre of terraced
hillside overlooking the Dorset countryside. There was originally a
lime-maker's cottage where the house now stands. The house is
comfortable, spacious and ideally
located for exploring south Dorset.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the
terraced and lawned arden; swing
under the beech tree, play croquet or just sunbathe and
relax.
The grassy valleys leading to the coast remain off the tourist trail and are completely unspoilt. Lulworth Cove, Durdle
Door and Man O'War Bay,
can be reached using bridleways and footpaths, traffic-free and
peaceful with no roads to cross.
The local thatched village pub is The Sailor's
Return, half a mile away, with restaurant, bar meals and a
wide selection of local real ales. The village store, post office,
newsagent and hairdresser in Winfrith Newburgh are one mile.
The bridleway
continues past the house, through the valley and on to Lulworth Cove
and Durdle Door
