The Sailor’s Return pub in the village
is a half-mile walk and offers a good selection of local real ales and
home-cooked food at reasonable prices, served in the bar or
restaurant. Children are welcomed in the
eating areas and the garden.

The Countryman and Red Lion pubs at Winfrith
Newburgh are both excellent
and only four or five minutes by car. There is a village store, post office,
garage and hair salon in
Winfrith.
We particularly recommend the Weld Arms at East
Lulworth for ambience and the quality of the food.

A stroll through the valleys to the beaches at Durdle Door takes about
40 minutes.
Lulworth Cove is a further 15 minutes walk along the
coastal path or beach. Both are less than 10 minutes by road.

Walkers will enjoy the quiet valleys
which lead directly to the coast, passing several ancient
barrows and long disused farm dwellings. The views hills
between Limekiln and the cliffs are spectacular reaching
inland to central Dorset and across to the Isle of Wight and Portland Bill.
Other local attractions
include The Tank Museum,
Monkey World and
Lawrence of
Arabia’s Cottage. All located at Bovington
and less than ten minutes by road.
